Evaluation On Pre-Production Coursework

Production Schedule
The production schedule was useful because it helped know what things needed to be completed by a certain day. This helped me stay organised.

Treatment Package/ Presskit release
This was helpful because it summarised what I wanted to include in my music video.

Storyboard
The storyboard showed screenshots of what I wanted to film for the music video. This helped because whilst filming I knew what I needed to do next and helped me make sure that I didn’t miss out any shots that I wanted to have in my music video.

Risk Assessment
This was important so that everybody was aware of the dangers and so nobody hurt themselves.

Equipment Booking
I needed to fill out a booking form in order to be able to take out equipment. I had to include what days I was going to take out the camera with a battery and tripod and what times I would have the equipment for.

Call Sheets
The call sheet was very useful because it informed everybody involved in my production of the details such at what time and where we are meeting, on what day and what they need to bring with them. It also had the contact details of everyone involved in the productin.

Performer Release
This was useful because it showed who committed to be at my production and who gave there permission for me to film them.

Locations

The locations that i have choosen are my house and a field neaby. I have choosen these because they suit the theme of my music video and the field is usually bare which is good for a shot.

Research on Eliza Doolittle

  Lyrics- The lyrics in the song 'Front To Back' are directive and paints a picture which I should be able to strengthen with the music video I am going to produce. The theme is playful and abstract. She is talking about going back to when things were better, easier and when they had fun whilst they were younger which gives a happy feeling.

Album- The title of her album is ‘Eliza Doolittle’ which implies that this album is mainly about her and what she feels. Most of the album is fast passed which gives a jolly mood.

Artist- This is her first album so there are no previous songs to compare this one to but her more resent song ‘Mr. Medicine’ is a bit slower which shows that her style of songs vary; she does upbeat songs as well as slow songs. Her main genre of music is ‘indie pop’.

Style of videos- Most of the music videos for this her first album are similar, they are mostly abstract and bold, she has a lot of colour with some sort of performance from other people such as them dancing, or playing an instrument. She is in the majority of her videos as the main character, usually lip syncing.

Image- she always wears shorts and converses or trainers. She has a young fun look and dresses casually.

Genre Comparisons- Similar artists are Lily Allen and Kate Bush. They both sing Indie pop and have to same type of image. They also appeal to a similar audience.

Target audience- Her target audience could vary from; female teenagers because they may look towards her as a role model and a fashion icon, or young adults, upwards because her music is subtle and nice to listen to.
